14-Year-Old Christian Girl Kidnapped While on Her Way to School.
A 14-year-old Christian girl named Princess Francis, a resident of Haripur city in KPK province of Pakistan, was kidnapped on August 3, 2021 by a man named Muhammad Zulqarnain while enroute to her school . She was a very bright 9th grade student. When she did not return home after school her parents unsuccessfully tried their best to find her on their own. They then contacted the police, but help was not forthcoming. In fact, the police kept telling her parents to find her themselves, and purposely delayed the investigation to help the kidnapper. This delay enabled the kidnapper to convert the girl to Islam and then marry her.

The province is the site of the ancient kingdom of Gandhara, including the ruins of its capital Pushkalavati, located near modern-day Charsadda. Once a stronghold of Buddhism, the history of the region was characterized by frequent invasions by various empires due to its geographical proximity to the Khyber Pass.
