New Education Initiative

Give Hope to the Least of These!

March 5, 2024

As we journey through life, the Lenten Season invites us not to forget the poor and the vulnerable of our world. We are focused on those living in poverty who are persecuted because of their beliefs. In Pakistan, many people are living in such situations. While endeavoring to help, we are also trying to influence the leadership of the country to include them as equal citizens. We also assist those who are falsely accused of Blasphemy. Some have no choice but to leave their homeland and become refugees.

This Lenten season, we appeal to you for prayers accompanied by any form of financial assistance. These are our brothers and sisters, depending on us to make a difference in their lives. May we also be reminded of Mathew 25:40 Truly I tell youwhatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

With these introductory comments, let us update you on some of the urgent needs confronting CAPC this season.

A school established in the slums of Islamabad is providing Primary Education to the Out of School Children who would otherwise be denied even a basic education. We are excited to share with you a new initiative, ‘Skills for Employment’, requested by most of the graduated students from ages 15-25. This pilot program will offer English Language Classes, followed by 3 levels of Computer Classes and Job Placement Training to help students have a better future in the job market. Involved in this will be a native English speaker from Canada who is graciously willing to help!

The evening classes will be held in the school building after hours. Transportation for these male and female youth will be part of the expenses, for security and safety issues involved in attending the classes.

A computer “lab” needs to be set up before the second phase can begin.  As you can understand, computer training will play a huge part in their future advancement, as it does currently throughout the developed world.

Based on the success, this pilot project will be replicated  in multiple slum locations in the large city of Islamabad, and possibly even expanding to other cities.

We in Canada always anticipate a good return on our financial investments. There is no limit to the return on our investments in the lives and future of these underprivileged youth with their potential in God’s Kingdom!
